The highest peak in Parnassus reaches 2.457 m. and that is Liakoura.
When the weather is clear, one can see the magnificent chine of Olympus, Helicon, Giona, Vardousia, Oeta, Tymfristos.
Liakoura is one of the highest peaks in Greece and according to mythology its name comes from a variant of the word Lykoreia, which means the howling of the wolves. This was the older name of Parnassus and this name is also mentioned in folk songs.
