At the Central square of Amphicleia one can wander at the “Bread Museum” and at the Museum of Professions in Amphicleia which are housed at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Amphicleia and the members of the Folklore – Dancing Association of Amphicleia “Dadiotiki Estia” have supervised it.

Bread Museum

The Bread Museum is a museum that its central subject, meaning bread, is examined in relation with the local history, society, tradition, customs and local particularities which were developed due to the geographic position, the climate and the development of the agricultural technology.

The permanent exhibition of the Museum presents the circle of bread (from the seed to the flour), the cultivation, collection, production, measurement and grinding. It also presents the circle of bread (from the flour to the bread), the preparation, the making and rolling, decoration and baking.

The variety of breads is very rich in various sizes, shapes and embossed patterns, and one can see clearly the main part bread played in everyday life as well as the social and religious life in Amphicleia.

Museum of Professions

The Museum of Professions houses valuable objects of heritage that were collected and saved with the help of the citizens of Amphicleia the members of the Folklore – Dancing Association of Amphicleia “Dadiotiki Estia”.

Amongst the exhibits one can find perfectly preserved equipments for some of the most typical professionals of the previous eras such as the farrier (Nalbant), the Saddlers, the Weaver, the barber, as well as individual everyday items which even though they are now part of every household, back then they constituted equipment for special use by the professionals who owned them or items of great value for those who owned them such as the Ice Cream machine, the radio, the iron that uses charcoal for ironing button down shirts, the mortar for smoke.
