With a history of almost 40 years, the tavern Mavrodimos at Agoriani -housed in the homonymous guest house- is famous for its gastronomic originality and the local raw materials of the menu.
Renewed menu that smells and tastes Agoriani
The pandemic brought a maturation that led to Mavrodimos to the decision to put out the coals, to throw away the grills and to cook only with the oven, the pot and the hull, allowing that way Mrs Voula, the mother, to show her talent giving that way a different dimension to the food options for food in Agoriani.
So, Mavrodimo’s new menu doesn’t include grilled dishes and dishes of the hour, includes only extremely carefully cooked dishes and dishes of the day, selected one by one.
The 90% of the first ingredients used in the kitchen, come either from the orchard and the hen house, or from local producers as well as estates and breeders in the area of Parnassos, within a radius of 25km.
Traditional cuisine with creative touches
Its cuisine is inspired from the Greek tradition, with respect to the old recipes of mom Voula, and at the same time has creative touches from the new chef. Optionally, anyone who wants to can participate in the collection and in the preparation of the food.
The menu includes delicious appetizers, stews, soups, handmade noodles and meat cooked in the pot, in the hull or in the pan.
From the appetizers single out the nettle meatballs with herbs from the orchard, the cabbage stuffing with egg-lemon sauce, the eggs with pasturma and peppers as well as the fava on smoked eggplant.
It is worth mentioning that Mavrodimos was the first certified non-smoking restaurant in Parnassos, long before the smoking ban.
